Mum pays Tesco Clubcard Plus subscription and says she 'won't go back'

A woman has revealed that people are horrified when she mentions she pays for Tesco Clubcard Plus, yet she insists she's saving more money than ever before.

Tesco Clubcard Plus was introduced in the UK in November 2019 and is a subscription-based scheme costing £7.99 per month. The scheme offers perks including 10% off two "big shops" per month and reductions on selected sections of the store.

The scheme doesn't cover online shopping, click and collect orders or Whoosh, and discounts can only be redeemed when shopping in store.

One woman, Katie Mary, has been subscribing to Tesco Clubcard Plus for some time and shared how people are "outraged" over the fact she's paying the retailer for cheaper groceries.

Nevertheless, the mum-of-one stated she won't be returning to her old ways due to the additional savings she's making.

She said: "Guess what, I'm still paying for it and I'm still reaping the benefits and absolutely loving it. I genuinely don't think that there is a better supermarket reward system on the market than Tesco Clubcard.

"Even if you don't have Clubcard Plus, they do reward you really well compared to all the other supermarkets. So for those that don't know, because it's not widely advertised really, Clubcard Plus is £7.99 a month and for that you get 10% off FandF clothing all the time, you get 10% off FandF Home and you get two 10% vouchers every single month to use on your shopping.

"It says Big Shop on them but you can use it on anything really. So we've actually changed how we shop because of it, so now we only do two Big Shops a month and use those two 10% vouchers and every single month we save more than the £7.99 subscription.

"And that's before you even factor in normal Clubcard points, Clubcard prices and the extra offers. You obviously still collect your Clubcard points as normal as well, which you can then turn into vouchers or exchange for days out and things like that.

"This year, for the first time ever, I've actually locked mine into Christmas Savers. I know it's so early but I really want to see how many points we can build up by Christmas because I genuinely think we may be able to cover our December and January food shops completely just from Clubcard points alone.

"But honestly, if something consistently saves you more than it costs and potentially pays for your Christmas food shopping, I'm keeping it."

Following her savings revelation in a TikTok video, other users flocked to the comments section to share their own experiences.

One person said: "I've paid it for the past 2 years now! Really feel like it's valuable for me."

A second said: "We pay for TWO Clubcard plus subscriptions, one in my husbands name and one in my name. We save over triple what it costs, we're both Tesco mobile customers so we get double data and there's the permanent discount in FandF clothes. 100000% worth it for us!"

A third person commented: "I have Clubcard plus too, couldn't be without it now. You also get double data if you have a Tesco phone contract which I think is amazing x".
