BBC The One Show Taken Off Air in Easter Schedule Shake‑Up
The One Show won’t air on Bank Holiday Monday as part of a BBC Easter schedule change — but fans won’t have long to wait for its return.
The popular early‑evening chat show will skip its Monday (April 6) episode, with the programme returning to its usual slot on Tuesday, April 7.
Friday’s edition saw JB Gill and Angellica Bell back on the sofa, joined by a packed line‑up of guests. Strictly Come Dancing pros Kai Widdrington and Jowita Przystał teased what fans can expect from the upcoming Strictly Pro Tour, while Patsy Kensit and Jayne Middlemiss discussed their emotional journey on BBC Two’s Pilgrimage.
As the show wrapped up, Angellica confirmed the short break, telling viewers:
“We will be back on Tuesday and we’ve got a whole host of fabulous guests joining us throughout the week.”
The BBC didn’t give an official reason for Monday’s absence, though it’s understood the team is taking a brief Easter break.
Ant McPartlin apologises after ‘spoiler’ moment
The shake‑up comes after I’m A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin appeared on Thursday’s episode and jokingly apologised for almost revealing too much about the upcoming South Africa all‑stars series.
While discussing the new season with Dec, Ant teased:
“This series gives you everything… drama, arguments… am I saying too much? I’m sorry, ITV.”
The all‑stars edition, filmed in South Africa last year, launches on Monday, April 6, promising high‑stakes trials, returning campmates and plenty of chaos.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
