Road Closures Announced as Gorseinon 10K Returns Next Weekend
Runners taking part in a previous instalment of the Gorseinon 10k

One of Gorseinon’s most popular community sporting events is back next week — and residents are being warned about a series of road closures to make way for the race.

The Gorseinon 10K returns on Sunday, April 12, with the main race starting at 9am. Hundreds of runners are expected to take part, with the event once again raising money for Morgan’s Army and other local causes. A 2km family fun run will also take place.

Race route

The 10K will start and finish near Penyrheol Leisure Centre, before heading through Gorseinon High Street and joining the newly refurbished cycle path for around 4km. Runners will then make their way towards Pontarddulais, loop through Grovesend, and tackle the final stretch back to Penyrheol.

Road closures and restrictions

To keep runners safe, several roads will be closed or restricted during the event. Organisers say emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Supporting Morgan’s Army

The event continues to honour the legacy of Morgan’s Army, founded by Natalie and Matthew Ridler after their son Morgan’s cancer diagnosis. Morgan died in June 2023, but the charity continues to support families affected by childhood cancer across Wales.
