A van has overturned on a busy road in Cardiff. The incident has taken place on Cowbridge Road east, with the vehicle coming to a rest on the pavement near to the entrance of the NHS Digital Health and Care Wales building.

The van is emblazoned with Enterprise branding, which is a rent-a-car company. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and South Wales Police attended the scene. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

A spokesman for the fire service told Pulse Media that a fire crew from arrived Cardiff Central arrived at the scene at 9.14am. 

It performed a "safety role at the scene."

A statement from South Wales Police read: "A single vehicle collision occurred on Cowbridge Road at approximately 9.30am in which a van came to rest on its side.

"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

"The road was closed so that the vehicle could be recovered."
