An altercation took place on Broadway in Adamsdown, Cardiff

A man has suffered stab wounds after an altercation outside a kebab shop in Cardiff. Officers from South Wales Police are investigating the incident that occurred outside Kebab Slemany on Broadway, Adamsdown.

As a result of an altercation that took place between 3.30pm and 4pm on the afternoon of Saturday, January 10 a 30-year-old man has sustained stab wounds which have been described as not life-threatening. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident as well as anyone driving in the area at the time.

South Wales Police said: "We are investigating an altercation outside Keban Slemany on the Broadway, Adamsdown, Cardiff on Saturday afternoon (January 10).

"As a result, a 30-year-old man sustained stab wounds which are thankfully not life threatening.

"We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time or anyone driving by that may have captured the incident on dashcam. It happened between 3.30pm and 4pm.

Whilst knife crime in the UK has risen over the years, including Cardiff, the force has reassured residents that levels of those offences remain lower in Cardiff "than many other parts of the UK, and south Wales remains a safe place to live, to work, and to be."
