Concern grows for missing man after car found near beauty spot

Police are concerned for the welfare of a missing man whose car has been discovered near a Welsh beauty spot.

An appeal has been made after 44-year-old Stewart was reported missing on Wednesday (February 11) after his vehicle was found parked in Cerrig Cwplau near Claerwen Dam in the Elan Valley, Powys.

A large search for Stewart has begun in the area, stretching across to Ceredigion. 

Stewart is described as around 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, with black hair and a long beard.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "While officers continue their enquiries, residents in Powys and Ceredigion are encouraged to share any sightings or information with police either online, by e-mailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101, quoting reference DP-20260211-104.

"Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by visiting crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555111."
