Woman lost 4st with jabs but 'could only manage can of Coke' at Christmas
Frankie Stone was 21st and a size 22 at her heaviest

A woman who has lost 4st on Mounjaro says the weight loss jab "ruined" her Christmas after she could only manage a can of Coke. Frankie Stone, 23, was 21 stone and a size 22 at her heaviest and started weight loss jabs in December last year to shift the pounds and boost her confidence.

But, the admin assistant, didn’t realise the effects Mounjaro would have on her enjoyment of the festive period. She was left unable to eat much of her Christmas dinner - only having a few mouthfuls - and, out of all the picky bits her mum laid out, only fancied a can of Coke. Frankie stuck with the jabs and has since lost four stone and is now 16 stone and a size 16, but she is not looking forward to Christmas this year on the jab.

Frankie, from Bristol, said: “It 100% affected my experience, everything around Christmas is food-related. My mum would bring all this stuff out and I just wouldn’t fancy anything.

“It was really weird; all I could manage was a can of Coke. I would usually be really excited about Christmas dinner, but I couldn’t really eat it.

“It was just a bit rubbish, because Christmas is all about food, especially when you’re an adult. It definitely ruined Christmas."

Frankie suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which she said has made it difficult to lose weight naturally. Before going on the jabs she struggled to shed the pounds, which she said made her feel fed up and deflated.

Frankie had just started Mounjaro in December 2024 when Christmas rolled around. She loved seeing her weight drop from using the jab and had a generally positive experience with Mounjaro, but wasn't expecting how much it would impact the festive season.

On Christmas Day Frankie and her family went out for dinner and, while everyone else was gorging on tasty treats, she was left unable to finish her meal. After her experience, she decided to ditch the jabs for a week for a holiday to Turkey in September 2025 so she could enjoy the food. But she said this led to terrible side effects, including anxiety and lack of sleep.

Frankie said: "I went to Turkey and I took a week's break and I was up all night, l couldn't sleep, I was really anxious, my heart was racing. It was really weird, there were so many strange side effects for not taking it."

She decided to go back on the jabs a month later and has since lost four stone. She has decided to continue taking them this December as the side effects outweigh her lack of enjoyment.

Frankie said when she previously stopped the jabs for her holiday it took a month for her appetite to come back. So, anyone hoping to have their appetite back by Christmas would have had to stop jabbing at the end of November.

Despite her negative experience of the festive period, Frankie, who has just started her own cleaning business called Sparkle by F&P, revealed that she has tried to see the positives and doesn’t mind too much as she is losing weight.

“Before taking the jabs I was just fed up," she said. “I was at a low and I’d put on loads of weight due to my PCOS.

“I just thought something needs to help me. Mounjaro just blocks all those food noises out. It doesn’t make you struggle anymore, and I’ve lost four stone so far.”

Frankie said her experience of the jabs has been mainly positive, although, like many, she has seen a number of side effects.

She said: “It gives me headaches and dizziness and it’s triggered anxiety in me, which I've never had before. I had a panic attack once, which I had to go to hospital about. I think a lot of it is just in your head though, because you think, ‘oh my god, what am I putting into my body?’”

She shares her experiences on TikTok @francescastone2. Eli Lilly, the maker of Mounjaro, lists on its website possible side-effects from using the jabs. They say these can include:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Decreased appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Indigestion
  • Stomach pain
