Policeman made 'sexually explicit' comments to women
A policeman made "sexually explicit and unwanted comments" to women he met during the course of his work, a court has heard.
Luke Silver was a constable with Gwent Police when he is alleged to have made the comments to two women in 2021 and 2022. The 34-year-old denies the allegations and is on trial at Cardiff Crown Court.
Opening the case for the prosecution, Roger Griffiths said one of the alleged victims in the case had been interviewed in connection with an unrelated incident - no charges followed in relation to that matter - and the second had reported her partner for incidents of domestic violence and was being treated as a victim.
He said it was the prosecution case that Silver made "sexually explicit and unwanted comments" to both women, including talking to one of the women about the sexual positions he liked and asking her whether she enjoyed sex, and asking the second woman when she had last had sex and discussing the size of her breasts.
The court heard that when the matters were reported to the police and Silver was interviewed, he denied making any sexually inappropriate comments to either woman.
Luke Silver, of Freshwater East Road, Lamphey, Pembrokeshire, denies three counts of the improper use of police power or privileges, and trial continues.
