The council has enacted the prohibition under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The enforcement of this order will mean those delivering goods or services will also be restricted from stopping their vehicles in the stated sections at any time of the day or night.
A copy of the Order can be inspected on the Council's Internet Website https://www.npt.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders-tros
For those questioning the legitimacy of the order, a legal window remains open for such challenges.
Residents have until within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made to apply for that purpose to the High Court to question the order's validity.
This may be on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with.
