Four Children Dead as Machete‑Wielding Man Storms Preschool ‘Posing as Parent’

Four young children have been “brutally stabbed and killed” at a preschool in Uganda after a man reportedly gained entry by pretending to be a parent before launching a horrific attack.

Police confirmed on Thursday (April 2) that a girl and three boys were killed inside the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in Kampala’s Makindye Division. A 34‑year‑old man has been arrested, though detectives say the motive remains unclear.

According to Uganda’s Daily Monitor, the suspect allegedly tricked staff by posing as a parent, entering through an office before stepping outside, locking a gate and beginning the attack.

Parents in tears as police fire warning shots

Footage broadcast by NTV Uganda showed distressed parents rushing to the school, with some breaking down in tears. Officers were seen firing shots into the air to disperse an angry crowd reportedly attempting to lynch the suspect.

The Uganda Police Force said in a statement:

“We confirm a tragic incident at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school… where a male suspect brutally stabbed and killed four juveniles. The suspect has been apprehended, and the motive behind the killings is still under investigation.”

Detectives remain at the scene, with further updates expected as the investigation continues.
