Pets at Home is relaunching its free half-term Pet Pals workshops

Children can learn about animal behaviour during a new series of interactive half-term workshops.

Pets at Home is relaunching its popular free Pet Pals sessions across the UK.

The 45-minute workshops will start at 2pm and will explore how playtime supports pets’ natural behaviours and overall wellbeing.

Each session will include hands-on activities and fun facts about a variety of animals, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and hamsters.

Children will also have the chance to handle small pets.

Dr Samantha Butler-Davies, veterinary services director at Pets at Home, said: "Another break from school means another Pet Pals workshop!"
"This programme provides children across the UK with valuable insights into pet care, guided by our experienced Petcare Advisors."

"Over the years, more than 700,000 children have participated in the Pet Pals programme, demonstrating our commitment to providing responsible pet ownership education to the next generation."

Pet care advisors will demonstrate different types of toys and explain how they help keep pets entertained, helping children understand how to care for animals at home.

Children will be able to take part in colouring activities and even design their own pet toys.

Each child will also receive an activity sheet, certificate, character headband and stickers to take home.

This year’s theme focuses on all things pet behaviour and how playtime can help pets exhibit their natural behaviours, which is vital for their wellbeing.

The workshops will run during half-term from February 15 to February 22.

Bookings can be made online at petsathome.com/workshops.
